Hiran Chatterjee (Bengali: হিরণ চ্যাটার্জী) (born 19 December 1985) is a Indian film actor and singer.[1][2]

Film career

His first role as a leading character was in the 2007 Bengali movie Nabab Nandini, directed by Haranath Chakraborty, opposite Koel Mallick. The film was a success and established Hiran as a popular face in the top league of Tollyville. After becoming a star with his first film, he did not sign up for other films until he won the roles in Bhalobasa Bhalobasa and Chirosathi. Bhalobasa Bhalobasa became a hit and people started calling him the Chocolate Boy. Thereafter he got critical plaudits for his characters in Jackpot and Risk. His role in Macho Mustanaa converted him from "Chocolate Boy" into the "macho" guy. He is known now as the "macho hero" of Tollywood and he achieved "eight packs" for this film. Le Halua Le became a hit, and his most recent movie Majnu also received a great response.

Singer and writer

He released a music video album, Bindaass, in which he and his wife sang and acted. He also wrote the story and script of a feature film Doshomi, directed by Suman Moitra and starring Koel Mallick and Bollywood star Indraneil Sengupta.

Awards

Social work

He is actively involved with the NGO group "Voice of World". He believes in social work in a true sense. His awareness made him pledge to donate his eyes even at this young age.
